Yes, Coachella is far away, but that is no excuse to not get excited at the potential Coachella Lineup Rumors 2017. Coachella always has a way of kicking the festival season off right, and we expect nothing less this year. Whether it's a band reuniting, the biggest rappers on the planet, or the next up-and-comers, Coachella has it! The 2017 Coachella will of course be in Indio, California at the Polo grounds in April. Weekend one is April 14-16 and weekend two is April 21-23. Tickets will once again set you back a pretty penny, with $399 being the 2017 price. This is actually $25 dollars more than last year! If you are on the cheap side, you can get a payment plan of $57 a month for 7 payments. Still too much? Coachella might not be your festival. Without Further ado, here are the 2017 rumors. Keep in mind that this list will be updated as new information is released. There is no perfect formula in trying to predict the festival rumors. However, with some simple math that their has to be around 100 acts, some, if not most, of these acts will be on stage in 2017. 1: Daft Punk. [caption id="attachment_1038" align="alignleft" width="300"] Daft Punk[/caption] Daft Punks first album, Homework, came out in 1997. That means that 2017 will be the 20 year anniversary of the French Duo. They haven't played any shows or toured since releasing Random Access Memories in 2013. People have been dying to hear the band play live, and what better location than Coachella. Who knows, maybe they'll even get on stage and play with their palls, Phoenix. On the other side, Daft Punk has seemed to be less and less interested with live music as they get older. But hey, these are just rumors. Chance of playing: 25% 2: The Talking Heads. The Talking heads are a classic American band. With 4 of their albums in Rolling Stones top 500 albums, it's safe to say that their is an audience for the band at Coachella. Coachella loves reunions, so why not? The band has last played in 2002 at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony induction. They played their classics "Burning Down the House" and "Pshycho Killer". The band has been known to have beef with one another as David Byrne mentions the bands "bad blood" and how musicically they are really on different planets. However, it's been 15 years since they played, so I think they are seeing Coachella dollar signs. Chance of playing: 50% 3: Tegan and Sara. The dynamic duo has played Coachella following in each of the recent years they had albums out, including 2005, 2008, and 2013 following Heartthrob. I expect 2017 to be a similar year, given they released 'Love You to Death' on June 3, 2016. With their soulful singing and girl power choruses, I expect T&S to make it out to the valley. Chance of playing: 75% 4: Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick has had a huge 2016. He won the 2016 Grammy for Album of the Year with "To Pimp a Butterfly" and song of the year with "Alright". From getting Praise from President Obama to sitting courtside at the Lakers, it's been Kendricks year. Kendrick is going to want to continue this momentum with a 2017 Headlining performance. Kendrick has actually never headlined Coachella, so this would be a huge opportunity for him. Lamar is the defacto best rapper alive, so to solidify his place, he needs a monster performance. He did play with Ice Cube on "It's Gone Be Alright", As well as a surprise performance with up and coming L.A. rapper Anderson .Paak, and the godfather himself, Dr. Dre.
However, he hasn't toured much for To Pimp A butterfly, so Coachella might be his live music crown. Chance to play: 65% 5: Arcade Fire. The Canadian band Arcade Fire, usually releases an album every three years. Given they put out their last one in 2004, we expect them to be back at it in 2017. One thing to note is that the guys behind Coachella, GoldenVoice, also puts on Panorama Festival. What is so interesting about Panomara? Well, Arcade Fire performed there in 2016, so there is a good shot they booked the hipster crew to Coachella 2017. A rumor you say? Probably so, but i'll take it! chance to play: 45%. 6: Chic. Well Chic hasn't fully commited but Nile Rodgers did say this on Twitter: I know it's only Twitter, but Nile Ridgers manager also confirmed it! Let's not forget how Rodgers and Daft Punk teamed up on 'Random Access Memories', including the smash hit 'Get Lucky'. Wouldn't it be convenient for everyone to be in the valley at the same time?! 7: Jean-Michael Jarre. Jean-Michael recently did an AMA on Reddit, telling his fans that he will be stateside in early 2017. Although you might not know of JMJ, you've definitely heard his music. He has sold over 80 million records worldwide, and holds the record for largest outdoor concert. He is considered a synth god, and early pioneer of the Moog Modular. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhrOkO3naaI
